Semaglutide & Tirzepatide are members of a class of drugs that have been used for diabetes management for over a decade – GLP1-RAs (glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonists). The weight loss effects of these agents have been known for some time, however, Semaglutide & Tirzepatide are considered “best-in-class” GLP-1 RA for weight loss and was recently approved for weight loss by the FDA under the brand name Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro.
With US diet, stress, hormonal imbalance, even certain medications cause us to have a hard time losing weight as we battle insulin resistance.
Clinical Trials have been shown in non-diabetic patients suffering from obesity. Most patients in a yearly study dropped 15% of their entire body fat with Semaglutide.
Patients with overweight or obesity who took Tirzepatide in a clinical trial lost up to 25% of their body weight.

Unlike phentermine, Semaglutide & Tirzepatide is not a stimulant. While other weight loss medications, like phentermine, have stimulating effects that help curb your appetite, Semaglutide & Tirzepatide works in a different way.
Does Semaglutide & Tirezepatide Work as an Appetite Suppresant?
Yes, Semaglutide & Tirzepatide helps to curb your appetite. In addition to slowing gastric emptying to make you feel full for longer, GLP-1 also plays a critical role in how your appetite is regulated.
Are there any Side Effects?
Semaglutide & Trizipatide are considered to be safe and effective when used as indicated. But every medication comes with risk of adverse side effects. The most common side effects of using Semaglutide & Trizipatide may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach (abdominal) pain, constipation, headache, upset stomach, feeling bloated, gas, stomach flu and heartburn.
Note that is why we start everyone on a low dosage and titrate slowly.
Trizeipatide has been shown to have fewer side effects compared to Semaglutide and efficacy with weight loss results.
Who Should Not Take Semaglutide ot Tirzepatide?
Semaglutide or Tirzepatide shouldn’t be used if you or your family have a history of certain thyroid cancers such as Medullary thyroid cancer or endocrine neoplasia type 2 .
Semaglutide or Tirzepatide should not be used in people with a history of pancreatitis. Semaglutide or Tirzepatide should be used cautiously for people on other blood sugar lowering medications.
